Problems Subscribing/Unsubscribing or Receiving our Newsletter?

The following information will assist you to add/remove yourself and correctly receive the regular Best Cruises newsletter in your Inbox each week.

Problems when Subscribing...

If you have subscribed yourself to the Best Cruises newsletter and you haven't been receiving it each week in your Inbox then check the following:

- problems occur when users copy and paste their email address from their contact management system or elsewhere and paste it into the subscription box. For example it may appear like this, [Bob Brown] BobBrown@Hotmail.com where it inserts the associated name to the email address.

- sometimes users copy and paste taking multiple email addresses at the one time like this: bobbrown@hotmail.com, jamesbrown@hotmail.com which will cause problems.

- please don't include the email address inside brackets or quotations, such as "bobbrown@hotmail.com" or <bobbrown@hotmail.com> which will cause problems.

- the most common error is typographic mistakes where the user has incorrectly typed in the address of bobbrown@hotmail.com like the following examples:
bob brown@hotmail.com
bobbrown@htomail.com
bobbrown@hotmail.com.
bobbrown@hotmial.com
bobbrown@hotmail .com
bobbrown@hotmail.con

You may laugh, but every variation above has been found on the list already so we know that mistakes can be made! Unfortunately none of these will work and you won't be receiving the Best Cruises Travel newsletter!

To resolve this add yourself to the list again, taking care to type your email address in correctly - this will check to see if your email address already exists on the list. If your address is already there and you are not receiving the regular weekly newsletter then you may need to check firewall or SPAM filters/message rules that you have established on your machine/network.

Problems Receiving Our Newsletter...

SPAM filters may tag the Best Cruises newsletter and follow whatever rules you have created for the handling of SPAM. Add Best Cruises to your white list or adjust the rules so that you can then receive the newsletter that you have signed up to.

HOTMAIL: ninemsn's Hotmail has a specific Junk Mail Filter with three settings. The Default (obvious junk mail is caught) doesn't appear to affect the receiving of the Best Cruises newsletter, however if you elect to use the Enhanced and/or Exclusive settings you may be missing out! So please be sure to add us to your safe list with the following settings:

In your Mail Handling -> Mailing Lists settings
To insure you receive mailing list messages from Best Cruises in your Inbox please Add our To: address of info@bestcruises.com.au

In your Mail Handling -> Safe Lists settings
To insure you receive all email correspondence from Best Cruises in your Inbox please Add our domain address of bestcruises.com.au

We suggest checking your Junk Mail folder regularly to make sure that wanted email has not been moved there automatically by the Hotmail system. If you've set the filter to delete "junk" email immediately without you seeing them, then you may be loosing other important mail.

YAHOO! MAIL: Yahoo! also has a specific Bulk Mail Filter that is automatically created as a result of the Yahoo! filter receiving a message that it determines to be bulk email.

Your Best Cruises newsletter may initially be delivered into this folder, so it is important that you check the Bulk mail folder periodically to make sure that  you don't miss any important mail. If you receive a Best Cruises newsletter in the Bulk mail folder be sure to mark it as "This is Not Spam" so that future emails from us are directed straight to your inbox.

Size limitations - Has your email box run out of room? Do you keep it cleaned out regularly... Free web based email accounts tend to have small storage allocation sizes and have a bad habit of being filled up quickly. If this is the case our Newsletter could bounce and you wouldn't end up receiving it.

Javascript errors due to code in the newsletter may trigger some error messages to occur in your email client program or antivirus systems if your security settings are such that don't allow the activation of javascript actions - this may render the page blank, or block the email totally. Please check your settings so that Java Script can function. If you wish to retain these settings then please subscribe to our plain text version newsletter to avoid this issue.

Removal Instructions

To unsubscribe from our plain text newsletter simply click on the remove link provided at the bottom of the received newsletter. You can also copy and paste this url into a web browser to achieve the same action.

For both the .html and plain .txt versions you are able to unsubscribe directly from our website at the top of this page. Type your email address in - exactly as you registered with, and select the format you nominated to receive, ensure the unsubscribe option is checked and then submit your request.

If you receive a message indicating that the email address that you have typed in to remove doesn't appear on the list... and you know that you do actually receive our newsletter check the following:

- retype your email address in all lowercase and try again eg. BobBrown@Hotmail.Com should be bobbrown@hotmail.com

- which email address did you register with? If you have multiple email accounts or redirects in place, try using the other address to unsubscribe. Email redirects are a common issue where the user has subscribed to for example bobbrown@hotmail.com and they have this set up to redirect to their normal email of bobbrown@bigpond.com.au... The user tries to unsubscribe bobbrown@bigpond.com.au and of course it isn't on the list - yet they still keep receiving the newsletter. So try unsubscribing with your other email addresses that you may have/had.

- many work places may have a catchall email setting and when workers leave and their email account gets deleted their mail then goes to the mail administrator for the network, or other nominated person. Again, so long as you unsubscribe with the appropriate email address of that person who had subscribed you'll be able to remove them from the list.

- which list did you subscribe to? Ensure that when manually unsubscribing yourself that you select either the .html or plain text option correctly. The .html version is the one in colour!

Please note if you are advised that the email address is not on the list, then it isn't on the list in the format or version that you have supplied! Try the suggestions above... your name only appears in our mailing list based on what you have typed in.
