Who are Best Cruises?

Best Cruises is the specialist cruise arm of Best Flights, who commenced trading in February 2001 and by 2005 had established itself as the largest independent travel company in the Southern Hemisphere. Best Cruises launched in November 2003 and by 2004 had become the most visited, dedicated cruise travel web-site in Australia. The International Cruise Council of Australia voted Best Cruises AGENCY OF THE YEAR 2007, an accolade that reflects not only the recognition Best Cruises has achieved within the travel industry but also the quality of service and product that Best Cruises extends to its valued clients.

In September 2005 the company was purchased by Transonic Travel, whose origins date back to 1949 and who now employs over 1,000 personnel around the world. In July 2006 Transonic Travel was in turn purchased by the public company, S8, who in turn was purchased by Stella Travel Services/MFS. Stella Travel Services is now the largest travel-related company in Australia, and one of the world’s top 20 travel companies.

Sitting side-by-side with Best Cruises and equally as innovative are sister web-sites bestflights.com.au, bestcoachtours.com.au and bestadventures.com.au, which are all also powered by unique search engines.

We continually strive to put together discounted cruises and fly cruise packages and find ''hidden fares'' that lurk in the deepest corners of the cruiselines’ and airlines' darkest closets. The funny thing is that many agents could sell the same deals, if they had the know-how or had taken the time to search through the mass of daily up-dates that arrive from the world's airlines. At Best Cruises we are just sad workaholics who sit at our computer screens through the night and the weekends to ensure that we bring the best deals to the Australian public.

Unlike most other cruise web sites that buy their cruises and cruise packages “off the shelf” Best Cruises powers a unique search engine, which we built and operate ourselves. This means you can search through a much wider range of cruises and cruise packages, all offered at our uniquely discounted prices. We believe that no other web site in the Southern Hemisphere (and possibly none in the Northern Hemisphere) offers anything close to the comprehensive range of up-to-date discounted cruises that you can find on Best Cruises.

Although we have a certain amount of live booking tools featured on our site, we still believe that a travel site is more of a marketing tool and should be treated like a daily or weekly magazine full of offers, which is updated continuously.

We encourage you to collate as much information as you like from our site and then if you want to contact us by phone/e-mail/fax you are welcome to do so. We openly promote our phone numbers. We do not hide them away like some other web sites.

Our Call Centre is based in a modern Business Centre in Leederville, Perth, one of the trendiest street café - cappuccino chic areas of the City. But don't worry, all the staff are chained to their chairs and are not allowed out in the day time, for fear of them never returning!

We operate as a totally independent company. We are not aligned with any franchise association or with any cruiseline or airline. We are not dictated to and can offer the travelling public a bigger choice of cruises, airlines, discounted air fares and wholesalers. We are fully bonded and are a member of The Travel Compensation Fund and Licensed Travel Agent of Western Australia. Our licence number is 9TA 1190.
